Due to the recent population growth and the increasing need for new housing solutions, the Egyptian government tended to establish new cities away from the outskirts of major cities. The most recent of these ambitious projects was the third generation of these new cities, New Cairo City. It is one of the most important cities in Cairo; located on about 70.000 acres allocated to the neighborhoods of New Cairo City.
New Cairo is distinguished with its moderate atmosphere and low air pollution. As well as, it is home to major and emerging businesses and companies, especially on 90th Street and the Bank District. The city features many commercial streets that contain global brands, shopping malls, and hiking areas such as Cairo Festival Mall.
Features and Services
- The city is sparsely populated; most of New Cairo’s neighborhoods offer high-class social living standards. Yet, some areas offer medium and upper-medium levels such as the 3rd Settlement and Youth Housing project in Katameya.
- New Cairo is characterized by a slightly higher ground level and the weather is mild and less heat in summer, but maybe cooler in winter. (So, you should consider this information when choosing the finishing materials for your home).
- One of the disadvantages of New Cairo is that prices are exaggerated, which is a result of the high social level, and also because of the increasing demand for them.
- Despite the planning of the good 5th Settlement neighborhood with its wide streets, it is flawed by the emergence of some crowds at some times of the day, especially around the 90th Street (the heart of New Cairo).
Popular Places
New Cairo features a number of popular places including, Police Academy, Cairo Festival City Mall, Down Town Mall, American University, Petrosport Stadium in 90th Street, and Air Defense Hospital.
Transportation and Main Roads
If you have a car, then you will enjoy easy access to New Cairo through the Ring Road, Suez Road, or Sokhna Road.
However, there are many public and private buses and transports that are also available to take you to or from New Cairo.
* Please note that the prices in the Egyptian market are constantly changing, so you can check the updated prices continuously by visiting Aqarmap updating list of all neighborhoods, also you can see the measurement rate of buying and selling in Aqarmap index.
