Dating back to 2010, a Presidential decree issued to establish New Alamein city. Some organizational obstacles stood against the establishment of the city.
In 2018, a new Presidential decree added a coastal front of 14 km to the city’s area. This decision came aiming to turn it into a coastal city that attracts investments and companies. In addition, it aims to attract citizens, vacationers and the displaced to the new cities.
New Alamein, the Most Important Fourth-Generation City
The definition of fourth-generation cities comes as cities that use modern technology and smart infrastructure solutions.
New Alamein city is one of such models which partly applies modern technology, as it is equipped with high-quality camera systems.
It will be linked to the New Administrative Capital through an advanced technological system, and it will also be provided with vital and significant facilities equipped with technological connectivity systems such as university campuses, including: Arab Academy For Science, Technology & Maritime Transport.
Furthermore, New Alamein enjoys a touristic peculiarity, for it is not just a new city, but a sustainable city that turns the North Coast from an area merely dedicated to resorts and vacations into a place of residence, investments, tourism, employment, and trade.
Additionally, it is based on smart solutions, such as underground waste management, or desalination of drinking water, solar energy, and other eco-friendly and sustainable solutions.
The Most Striking Features of New Alamein
- A city with various residential segments, including social-middle housing, and high-class housing, such as luxurious apartments and waterfront villas, as well as hotel establishments that serve the city’s tourism sector.
- It has a diverse nature, that is, it is based on housing and expansion projects away from the overpopulated major cities, yet it is also a coastal city with a touristic vision.
